Fascinating Saturday in the village (a senyru)

Urban kids saw fowls
Fascinating excitement!
‘Mum, chicken, chicken’!
They ran after them
sending furious wings flappings
in all directions
For kids who grow up in the cities and high-rise buildings, this is a sight to behold! Not at the birds, but the excited kids!
A beautiful message in these simple words of village life. Lovely photograph.

I remember a moment in the Philippines when I visited my grandmotherβs home and she had a chicken coup. The kids loved from the city, including me, loved to chase them around. We also loved the fried chicken afterwards (with no offense intended to vegetarians!).

Wish humans can treat those poor birds better and let them roam freely rather than cooped up in a cage.

They kept them for eggs.

Kampung days are so gone here too in Lil Red Dot. Children think that Chickens look like that in Supermarkets, cleaned and headless. HAHA!

I feel so sorry for the fowls because they will eventually be eaten. They cannot even complain or say no.If they complain who is listening?.
And the eggs are source of protein boiled, or fried and be eaten with pancakes or breads.
Poor fowls, I don’t envy you.
