Resuscitation during a cardiac arrest!

****

I read about this gutsy lady

who ran in to pump her fists

onto a man’s chest

on a badminton court floor.

“Quick, call 999, and go get the AED from my car!”

… throwing her car key to her son nearby.

( Wow, she even had an AED in her car!)

****

Watching a few trainings in progress, as participants learned to do CPR on manikins.

“Madam, madam, are you ok? (Shaking the manikin’s shoulder…) Quick, someone, call 911, and bring the AED!”

“er… 911? Isn’t it 999 in Malaysia?”

“Oop, let me start again! Madam, madam, are you ok?…..”

( Too much of watching western movies and ER series? ‘911’ seems natural to a few of them! Ha, ha!)

Any questions?

****

“What if I break the victim’s ribs?” “…so, you rather watch him ‘go forever’?”

*****

“What if, it’s a lady? Do I put my hands on her chest?” “Stupid question! You better don’t be around if I ever collapse in office! Move! My turn to do CPR!” And the plump senior lady knelt before the manikin.

  2. I just looked at my CPR Training card and it is dated 1985. Probably time for a refresher course!

    1. The young ones around us seniors should go for it.

I did a two-day first aid training once and found it to be a useful training. Hopefully I never have to use it but good skills to have.

    1. It can be quite strenuous in real life. When I was young and had to initiate a CPR in ER, I was always glad when a male staff came along to take over!
