Hold my hand

least you get lost!

I read about a grand father who wandered many kilometers away from home. Getting lost may be the first sign of Alzheimer’s.

Too generous a teaspoon salt!

I was watching YouTube. This Italian granny chef was showing how she whipped up her dish.

Here she goes in the video…

“Now, a teaspoon of salt over the meat…” And she sprinkles … generously ( definitely more than one teaspoon)!

“Saute the garlic and onion in a little oil.

Stir in the meat and… and, add a teaspoon of salt…” There she goes again shaking the king of ingredients all over the pan… I am pretty sure that was more than a little teaspoon!

“Now, let’s do the pastry to wrap the meat.” Needless to say what she added to the flour…

I wonder if aging and loss of taste- buds, contribute to this phenomenon. Not to mention its added risk to those with hypertension!

Caution!

On another note, when giving hot drinks to the elderly, make sure it is not piping hot… and burn her lips, mouth and tongue!

She may not realize the heat till the burn hits in!
